Release Tag Holds
POST/api/shopify/:integrationInstance/reserve-by-tag/release
Starts a background job that releases Reserve Orders by Tag holds on this instance. Each released order that nothing else holds (credit hold, payment hold, a Shopify fulfillment hold, a hold metafield or an open delay) is opened and sent to its shipping provider.
This endpoint currently requires session authentication; Personal Access Token scope support is in progress.
Authentication: Requires Bearer token and the integrations.update permission.
Request body:
- scope (string, required): unconfigured = release only holds whose matched tags are no longer in the saved setting; all = release every tag hold
A release is permanent for the order: later Shopify updates carrying the tag do not reserve it again.
Errors:
- 422 when scope is missing or invalid
- 409 when a release job is already running for this instance

Unauthenticated — the bearer token is missing, revoked, expired, or malformed. Never retry automatically; fix the credential. See the Errors guide.
Forbidden — the token lacks a required scope, the endpoint is not available to API tokens, or the user behind the token lacks the permission. A human must adjust the token scopes or user permissions; do not retry.
Not found — no record with the given identifier (or the route does not exist). Verify the ID before retrying.
