Request a Quote Without an Account
POST/api/portal/quotes/guest
Request a quote without a portal account. The request becomes a draft quote (origin rfq) for staff to review, already priced from the merchant's pricing; the requester is never shown a price until staff send the quote, which is then emailed to them as a PDF. Staff are alerted (alert type portal_guest_quote_requested) and the requester gets an email confirmation listing the items.
This endpoint currently requires session authentication; Personal Access Token scope support is in progress.
Authentication: none (public). Send multipart/form-data (or JSON without the attachment).
The requester is filed under a customer that is never enrolled in the portal; a portal account's email is never matched.
Responses: 201 with the quote number only; 404 while guest quote requests are switched off; 422 no_valid_items when nothing requested is in the guest catalog; 422 validation errors. Throttled to 5 requests a minute.

Unauthenticated — the bearer token is missing, revoked, expired, or malformed. Never retry automatically; fix the credential. See the Errors guide.
Forbidden — the token lacks a required scope, the endpoint is not available to API tokens, or the user behind the token lacks the permission. A human must adjust the token scopes or user permissions; do not retry.
