Download the BOM import template — a three-sheet XLSX carrying the accepted columns, a field guide, and reference values from the account (units of measure, existing BOM names, a sample of product SKUs).
manufacturing:readGrant this scope to your token under Settings → Developer → Personal Access Tokens.
Requires a Personal Access Token with the manufacturing import permission.
One row is one component line. Rows sharing a product SKU and BOM name form one BOM; the BOM-level columns are read from the first valid row of each group. Required columns: product_sku, component_sku, quantity.
Upload the filled file through the data-import endpoints using entity type boms.
Responds with a binary spreadsheet, not JSON.

Response Headers
Unauthenticated — the bearer token is missing, revoked, expired, or malformed. Never retry automatically; fix the credential. See the Errors guide.
Forbidden — the token lacks a required scope, the endpoint is not available to API tokens, or the user behind the token lacks the permission. A human must adjust the token scopes or user permissions; do not retry.
Rate limited — platform limit is 1,000 requests/min; individual tokens may carry lower limits. Honor the Retry-After header before retrying. See the Rate Limits guide.
