Mark Sales Order Shipped Before Tracking

POST

/api/sales-orders/:salesOrder/mark-shipped-before-tracking

Marks one sales order as shipped before inventory tracking, synchronously. Same effect as the bulk endpoint for a single order: open product lines are credited as externally fulfilled with no inventory movement or debt, reservations released, the order closed, and a note added.

Required scope: orders:write

Grant this scope to your token under Settings → Developer → Personal Access Tokens.

Authentication: Requires Bearer token with the sales_orders.fulfill permission.

Path parameters:

  • salesOrder (integer): Sales order ID.

Request body fields (all optional):

  • push_to_sales_channel (boolean, default true): For Shopify orders, also mark the order fulfilled in Shopify without notifying the customer.
  • reverse_post_start_channel_fulfillments (boolean, default false): Also reverse channel-recorded shipments dated on/after the start date (stock returned, channel fulfillment kept).

Eligibility — an order is eligible when:

  • the account has an inventory start date set, and the order was placed strictly before it;
  • the order is not cancelled and at least one product line still has unshipped quantity;
  • nothing on it is already with a shipping provider, a dropship supplier, Amazon MCF, awaiting customer pickup, or mid-shipment. Ineligible reasons: not_found, no_inventory_start_date, ordered_on_or_after_start, cancelled, nothing_open, in_flight_fulfillment, submitted_to_provider, dropship_in_progress, active_mcf_order, awaiting_pickup, locked_period, failed.

Response pre_tracked fields: sales_order_id, sales_order_number, lines, units, push_queued, reversed_fulfillments, returned_units, product_ids. A 422 is returned when the order is ineligible; data.reason carries the reason code.
