File a compliance document against a lot.
inventory:writeGrant this scope to your token under Settings → Developer → Personal Access Tokens.
A Certificate of Analysis belongs to the lot, not the purchase order: one purchase order receives many lots, one lot can arrive across many purchase orders, and a recall is scoped by lot.
Set apply_to_batch to link the same stored file to every lot sharing this lot's batch number — a supplier batch routinely lands as several lots (two warehouses, a split receipt), and the certificate covers the batch.
Send as multipart/form-data. Max file size 20 MB.

Response Headers
Unauthenticated — the bearer token is missing, revoked, expired, or malformed. Never retry automatically; fix the credential. See the Errors guide.
Forbidden — the token lacks a required scope, the endpoint is not available to API tokens, or the user behind the token lacks the permission. A human must adjust the token scopes or user permissions; do not retry.
Not found — no record with the given identifier (or the route does not exist). Verify the ID before retrying.
